Charging Port Repair in Fullerton, CA

A charging port takes more mechanical abuse than any other connector on a device. Pocket lint packs into it, pins bend, and solder joints fatigue after years of plugging in.

Not every charging fault needs a new port. We inspect first, because a packed port and a broken port look identical from the outside.

We do not publish repair prices. A technician confirms your exact price by text and email before any work starts.

What The Repair Involves

  1. 1

    Inspection under magnification

We look at pin condition, contamination and any corrosion or heat marks around the connector.

  2. 2

Cleaning where that is the fix

If compacted debris is the cause, careful cleaning often restores a solid connection without any parts.

  3. 3

    Port replacement where needed

On devices with a flex-mounted port, the assembly is replaced. On soldered ports, the connector is removed and a new one fitted at the board.

  4. 4

    Charge and data testing

We verify charge rate, cable retention and data connection before returning the device.

Cleaning First, Replacement Only If Needed

We do not assume every charging problem is a broken port. Some are debris, some are a worn cable, some are a charging circuit fault on the board — the inspection tells us which.

Turnaround

Cleaning is usually done while you wait. Flex-mounted port replacements are often same day; soldered ports are board-level work and take longer.

Warranty

Small-part charging port replacements carry a one-year warranty. When the fix is board-level, the shorter board-level term applies instead — we confirm which with your quote.

Warranty varies by repair and part quality and is confirmed with your quote. See the full warranty policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Could it just be my cable?

It often is. Bring the cable you use and we will test the device with a known-good cable and charger as part of the inspection.

Can I clean the port myself?

Gentle removal of loose lint with a wooden or plastic pick is low risk. Metal tools and compressed air can bend pins or push debris further in, which turns a cleaning job into a replacement.

Why would a charging port need board-level work?

On many devices the port is soldered directly to the logic board, and the pads under it can be damaged. That requires micro-soldering rather than a plug-in part swap.

Do you repair console and controller charging ports?

Yes — Switch, controller and other console ports are repaired at the shop, and we tell you up front when a case needs board-level work.
